Privacy policy
Last updated: September 26, 2026
Make YouTube™ Great Again doesn't collect, share or sell any personal data. It has no accounts, no analytics and no tracking, and it doesn't send anything about you to its author or anyone else.
What it saves, and where
Everything stays in your browser's extension storage:
- Your settings: which features are on, and their options
- Videos you marked for audio mode
- Comment drafts
- Screenshots you took
- Recently viewed & looped videos
Settings may be synced between your own devices by your browser's sync, if you use it. Everything else stays on the device. Removing the extension deletes it all.
Network requests
The extension only talks to:
- YouTube™, while you use it: for video titles in the History tab, the list of a playlist's videos when you mark it for audio mode, your account's name & photo shown on your comment drafts, and posting a draft when you click Publish. These go to YouTube™ as your own browser's requests.
- GitHub: the popup's Links tab loads its list of links from the project's repository.
Permissions
- Access to youtube.com: to add the features to YouTube™ pages
- Tabs: to apply features you switch on or off to open YouTube™ tabs right away
- Storage & unlimited storage: to save the data above in your browser, screenshots needing more room than the default
Questions
The extension is open source, so everything above can be checked in its code. For questions, open an issue on GitHub.
